A forex broker locked me out of my account with $95,000 inside. By the time I realised what was happening, the platform had already moved most of the funds through several jurisdictions.
Retraced Partners recovered $78,000 by tracing the bulk of the deposits and filing freeze requests before the trail went cold. A portion of the money had already been cashed out and was unrecoverable.
I won't pretend I wasn't disappointed about the difference — but $78,000 back is $78,000 I thought was gone forever. I'm grateful they were honest from the start about what could and couldn't be recovered.
