I invested $46,000 in what turned out to be a Ponzi scheme. The 'returns' I was being paid were just other victims' money.
Retraced Partners traced where my principal actually went and recovered $33,000. The money paid out as 'yield' to early investors was unrecoverable.
It wasn't the full amount, but recovering $33,000 of my $46,000 was more than I could have done alone.
